What can I currently do in MARK?
In addition to the user-friendly school management tool, which enables the Access Co-ordinator to give access to other teachers and to set up the children within the site, you can now access marksheets and reports for the following suites of tests: PiRA, PUMA, GAPS Optional Tests and Progress Tests. Once you have completed the general set-up process for MARK, as outlined above, you will have access to all of these marksheets.

I can’t see the MARK icon on my dashboard.  Why?

MARK is completely free and can be access by every teacher within your school.  Simply order MARK by clicking on the relevant link below:

When you go to place your order you will be asked to nominate a member of staff to assume the role of Access Co-ordinator to complete your order; this is to ensure your children’s data is secure. The Access Co-ordinator can get your school set up on the site by following a few simple steps and will be able to approve access for teachers so they can enter results and generate reports.

I can see the icon on my dashboard but I cannot log in.
This is probably because you have not been approved by your school’s Access Co-ordinator. To request approval, simply click on the ‘request access’ link on the log in screen of MARK.

This could also be because you have not clicked on the email verification link. This link is sent to you via email to make sure that your account is secure. Please check your spam/junk mail just in case the email landed in the wrong place.

I want to download the pupil import CSV to my computer so I can start inputting pupil data
Your school’s Access Co-ordinator can download the CSV file in the Manage > Pupils area once logged in to MARK. Once in this area they simply need to click on the button named ‘export CSV’. This will download the file to their computer to be populated with the children’s details.

I can’t log in with my username and password
In order to ensure your account remains secure and your children’s data is protected, 4 confirmation emails are sent to your inbox upon purchase. One of these emails contains an account verification link that you will need to click on to confirm your account. Please ensure to check your spam/junk email folder to see if they may have ended up in there. If not, please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.

I am having trouble uploading the CSV document containing pupil data
There may be a number of reasons why you are having problems uploading the document. Please check the following:

1. Ensure that your classes have been set up before trying to upload your pupils.
2. Ensure the document is saved as a CSV file.
3. Ensure that you have used the most up-to-date template by downloading the CSV file in the Manage > Pupils area and clicking on the button ‘export CSV’. Make sure to populate this file with your children’s data.
4. Ensure that all mandatory fields are completed. All mandatory fields have an asterisk next to them.
5. Ensure the fields are completed in the correct format. In order for the reporting tool to operate correctly, each cell of the CSV must be formatted correctly. You can look at an example template here for guidance.

If you are still having problems please contact us using the contact details at the bottom of this page.

I am unable to print the reports
To print a report, first save it as a PDF to your computer. You can then print the PDF as you would any other document. We are working on the functionality to be able to print directly from the site, so watch this space!

Can I edit my pupil data once I have uploaded it into the system?

You can edit and manage existing pupils in MARK and in Admin Hub.  See pages 23-25 in the set up guide for step by step instructions.

How can I promote children to the next year group at the end of the year?

The Access Co-ordinator can promote year groups up the school at the end of the year – moving this year’s Reception class into Year 1, and so on.

Click here to download a simple guide to promoting year groups, as well as information on managing groups.

How can I change the Access Coordinator?
If you are not the Access Co-ordinator, you will need to request the role from the existing Access Co-ordinator.
The existing Access Co-ordinator should:

1, Navigate to the Schools tab, where all the buttons should be active.
2. Select ‘Nominate AC’.
3. Choose another teacher from the dropdown list of teachers within the school.
4. The new Access Co-coordinator will receive a series of emails asking him/her to confirm that he/she will be the new Access Co-ordinator.

Can I upload my pupil data directly from SIMS?
At present, there is no functionality to do a direct transfer from SIMs. We suggest downloading the data and copying and pasting into the CSV template that can be downloaded from the Manage > Pupils area within MARK.

How can the Access Co-ordinator give access to other teachers?
On entering the site, navigate to the ‘Teacher’ tab underneath ‘Manage’ in the navigation bar on the left-hand side and then click the ‘Add teacher’ button on the bottom right-hand side.

Which web browsers support MARK?

Viewing historical marks for AMT/ART

For AMT and ART, MARK determines which standardised score to give to a pupil based on their academic year at the time the test was taken. For example, a student in Year 4 and a student in Year 5 will, with the same total raw score, receive different standardised scores because they are in different years groups.

MARK is currently unable to determine standardised scores for tests taken before the 2017–2018 academic year. This means that if you enter historic test data from before 2017–2018, pupils will be given standardised scores based on the academic year they are in at the time you enter their results, and not based on the year they were in at the time they took the test.
